English Translation
Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, from Muhammad, the cloth merchant, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: When the verse was revealed: 'A multitude from the earlier peoples, and a few from the later peoples' [56:13-14], the Prophet ﷺ said: 'I hope that you will be a third of the people of Paradise.' Then he said: 'Rather, I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise.' Then he said: 'You are among the people as a white hair on a black bull, or a black hair on a white bull.'
