Hadith #95

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقِيَ آدَمَ مُوسَى فَقَالَ أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ اللَّهُ بِيَدِهِ وَأَسْكَنَكَ جَنَّتَهُ وَأَسْجَدَ لَكَ مَلَائِكَتَهُ ثُمَّ صَنَ
عْتَ مَا صَنَعْتَ فَقَالَ آدَمُ لِمُوسَى أَنْتَ الَّذِي كَلَّمَكَ اللَّهُ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ التَّوْرَاةَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَهَلْ تَجِدُهُ مَكْتُوبًا عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُخْلَقَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Husayn narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Adam met Musa (عليهما السلام), and Musa said to Adam: "Are you Adam whom Allah created with His Hand, breathed into you from His Spirit, and caused His angels to prostrate to you?" He said: "Yes." Musa said: "Then why did you expel yourself and us from Paradise?" Adam said: "Are you Musa whom Allah chose with His Message and His Speech and gave you the Tablets containing the explanation of everything, and brought you near as a confidant? How long before I was created do you find that Allah wrote the Torah?" Musa said: "Forty years." Adam said: "Do you find in it: And Adam disobeyed his Lord and went astray?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Do you blame me for doing something that Allah had decreed for me forty years before He created me?" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "So Adam prevailed over Musa."'
