حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ

صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَصُمْ الْمَرْأَةُ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا وَزَوْجُهَا شَاهِدٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ

Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him]companion

English Translation

Waki' and 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us from Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from Musa ibn Abi 'Uthman, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A woman should not fast even one day while her husband is present except with his permission.' Waki' added: 'Except for Ramadan.'
