English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, who said: Hisham ibn Sa'd narrated to us from Sa'id ibn Abi Hilal, from Ibn Abi Dhubab, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ passed by a mountain pass with a sweet spring of water. He was impressed by the beauty of the pass and thought: 'What if I settle here and live in seclusion?' Then he said: 'No, not until I ask the Prophet ﷺ.' He asked him and he ﷺ said: 'The station of one of you — meaning in the cause of Allah — is better than the worship of one of you among his family for sixty years. Do you not wish that Allah forgives you and admits you to Paradise? Strive in the cause of Allah. Whoever fights in the cause of Allah for the time it takes to milk a she-camel, Paradise is guaranteed for him.'
