حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَيَزِيدُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاةِ قَيْسٍ وَكَانَ قَيْسٌ لَا يُطَوِّلُ قَالَ قُلْتُ هَكَذَا كَ
انَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ نَعَمْ أَوْ أَوْجَزُ وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ وَأَوْجَزُ حَدَّثَنَاه وَكِيعٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَأَوْجَزُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yahya and Yazid narrated to us from Isma'il, from his father, that Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) used to lead them in prayer in al-Madinah in a manner similar to the prayer of Qays, and Qays used to not lengthen the prayer. He (Isma'il's father) said: 'I asked: Is this how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray?' He said: 'Yes, or even shorter.' Yazid said: 'And even shorter.' Waki' narrated it to us and said: 'Yes, and even shorter.'
