Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا زَارَ أَخًا لَهُ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أُخْرَى فَأَرْصَدَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَدْرَجَتِهِ مَلَكًا فَقَالَ لَهُ أَيْ
نَ تَذْهَبُ قَالَ أَزُورُ أَخًا لِي فِي اللَّهِ فِي قَرْيَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ هَلْ لَهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تَرُبُّهَا قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنَّنِي أَحْبَبْتُهُ فِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَإِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَبَّكَ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَهُ فِيهِ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "A man went to visit a brother of his in another town, and Allah sent an angel to wait for him on the road. When he came upon the angel, the angel asked: 'Where are you headed?' He said: 'I am going to visit a brother of mine in this town.' The angel asked: 'Do you have any favor from him that you seek to collect?' He said: 'No, except that I love him for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.' The angel said: 'I am a messenger from Allah to you, informing you that Allah loves you as you have loved him for His sake.'"
