حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عَمَّارٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَقِيَ آدَمَ مُوسَى فَقَالَ أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ اللَّهُ بِيَدِهِ وَأَسْجَدَ لَكَ مَلَائِكَتَهُ وَأَسْكَنَكَ الْجَنَّةَ ثُمَّ فَعَلْتَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي كَلَّمَكَ اللَّهُ وَاصْطَفَاكَ بِرِسَالَتِهِ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ التَّوْرَاةَ ثُمَّ أَنَا أَقْدَمُ أَمْ الذِّكْرُ قَالَ لَا بَلْ الذِّكْرُ فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى فَح
َجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحُمَيْدٌ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ أَظُنُّهُ جُنْدُبَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيَّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَقِيَ آدَمَ مُوسَى فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Musa met Adam and said: 'You are Adam whom Allah created with His Hand, made His angels prostrate to you, and placed you in Paradise, then you did what you did.' Adam said: 'You are Musa whom Allah spoke to, chose with His message, and sent down the Torah to you. Am I earlier, or is the Decree?' He said: 'Rather, the Decree is earlier.' So Adam prevailed over Musa in argument." 'Affan narrated via Hammad from 'Ammar ibn Abi 'Ammar from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet ﷺ, and Humayd from al-Hasan from a man — Hammad said he thought it was Jundub ibn 'Abdullah al-Bajali — from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "Musa met Adam," and mentioned its meaning.
