حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَبَهْزٌ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْ

بَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ بَهْزٌ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ نَقَصَ مِنْ الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ آخَرَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ

English Translation

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Dhuhr with only two rak'ahs, then gave the salam. He was told that the prayer had been shortened. So he prayed two more rak'ahs, then gave the salam, then prostrated two prostrations (of forgetfulness)."
