حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ص
َالِحٍ مَوْلَى السَّعْدِيِّينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ رِجَالًا يَسْتَنْفِرُونَ عَشَائِرَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ الْخَيْرَ الْخَيْرَ وَالْمَدِينَةُ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهَا لَتَنْفِي أَهْلَهَا كَمَا يَنْفِي الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا أَحَدٌ رَاغِبًا عَنْهَا إِلَّا أَبْدَلَهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ خَيْرًا مِنْهُ

English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, who said: Hashim ibn Hashim narrated to us, who said: Abu Salih, the mawla of the Sa'diyyin, narrated to us from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, men urge their tribes to leave (al-Madinah), saying: Goodness! Goodness (is elsewhere)! But al-Madinah is better for them if only they knew. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one endures its hardship and severity except that I will be a witness or intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection. By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, it expels its people as the bellows expels the impurities of iron. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, no one leaves it turning away from it except that Allah (عز وجل) will replace him with someone better.'
