Waki' narrated to us, who said: Ibn Abi Layla narrated to us from 'Ata', from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, reciting aloud in some and silently in others. We recited aloud where he recited aloud and silently where he recited silently. And I heard him say: There is no prayer without recitation.'
