English Translation
Bahz narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman, the freed slave of Umm Burthun, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah said: I have divided the prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant shall have what he asks for. When the servant says: Alhamdulillahi Rabb al-'alamin, Allah says: My servant has praised Me. When he says: Al-Rahman al-Rahim, Allah says: My servant has extolled Me. When he says: Maliki yawm al-din, Allah says: My servant has glorified Me. When he says: Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in, Allah says: This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he asks for. When he says: Ihdina al-sirat al-mustaqim to the end, Allah says: This is for My servant, and My servant shall have what he asks for.'
