‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ الْأَزْدِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏أَبِي حَازِمٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ كَسْبِ الْإِمَاءِ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Juhadah al-Azdi, from Abu Hazim al-Ashja'i, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited the sale by pebble-throwing (hasah) and the sale involving uncertainty (gharar).

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ أَبِي ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شَرِيكٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ قَالَتْهَا ‏ ‏الْعَرَبُ ‏ ‏كَلِمَةُ ‏ ‏لَبِيدٍ ‏ ‏أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا ‏ ‏خَلَا ‏ ‏اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ ‏

Waki' narrated to us — my father said: Sharik narrated to us — from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The truest word a poet ever spoke is the saying of Labid: Indeed, everything besides Allah is false.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏تَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ وَيَكْثُرُ ‏ ‏الْهَرْجُ ‏ ‏وَيُرْفَعُ الْعِلْمُ ‏ ‏فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ ‏ ‏عُمَرُ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ يُرْفَعُ الْعِلْمُ قَالَ ‏ ‏عُمَرُ ‏ ‏أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ ‏ ‏يُنْزَعُ ‏ ‏مِنْ صُدُورِ الْعُلَمَاءِ وَلَكِنْ يَذْهَبُ الْعُلَمَاءُ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Burqan, from Yazid ibn al-Asamm, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Tribulations will appear, and killing will increase, and wealth will overflow among you, such that the owner of wealth will be anxious whether anyone will accept his charity, until when he offers it, the one to whom it is offered will say: I have no need for it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏خَيْرُكُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا إِذَا فَقُهُوا ‏

Waki' narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'The best of you in Islam are the best in character, when they attain understanding [of the religion].'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْأَعْرَجِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏رَأَى رَجُلًا يَسُوقُ ‏ ‏بَدَنَةً ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏ارْكَبْهَا قَالَ إِنَّهَا ‏ ‏بَدَنَةٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ ارْكَبْهَا ‏ ‏وَيْحَكَ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ saw a man driving a sacrificial camel (badanah). He said: 'Ride it.' The man said: 'It is a sacrificial camel.' He said: 'Ride it.' The man said: 'It is a sacrificial camel.' He said: 'Ride it, woe to you!' — on the second or third time.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ لَسَاعَةً لَا ‏ ‏يُوَافِقُهَا ‏ ‏رَجُلٌ يَدْعُو فِيهَا خَيْرًا إِلَّا اسْتَجَابَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed on Friday there is an hour in which no Muslim servant stands praying and asks Allah for something except that He gives it to him.' And he indicated with his hand that it is a brief time.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي كَثِيرٍ الْغُبَرِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا بَاعَ أَحَدُكُمْ الشَّاةَ أَوْ ‏ ‏اللِّقْحَةَ ‏ ‏فَلَا ‏ ‏يُحَفِّلْهَا ‏

Waki' narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Kathir al-Ghubari, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever is afflicted by something of these foul things [sins], let him conceal himself with the concealment of Allah (عز وجل). For whoever reveals to us his wrongdoing, we will carry out upon him what is in the Book of Allah.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْأَعْمَشُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ رِزْقَ آلِ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٍ ‏ ‏قُوتًا ‏

Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Umarah ibn al-Qa'qa', from Abu Zur'ah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, make the provision of the family of Muhammad sufficient [i.e., just enough to sustain them].'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏هِشَامٌ ‏ ‏وَمِسْعَرٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏هِشَامٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَوَقَفَهُ ‏ ‏مِسْعَرٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَجَاوَزَ لِأُمَّتِي عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهَا مَا لَمْ تَعْمَلْ بِهِ أَوْ تَكَلَّمْ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, Hisham and Mis'ar narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Zurarah ibn Awfa, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) — Hisham said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said — and Mis'ar stopped it [at the Companion level]: 'Allah has overlooked for my ummah what occurs to their minds, so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَنْ اشْتَرَى شَاةً ‏ ‏مُصَرَّاةً ‏ ‏فَهُوَ ‏ ‏بِالْخِيَارِ ‏ ‏إِنْ شَاءَ رَدَّهَا وَمَعَهَا ‏ ‏صَاعٌ ‏ ‏مِنْ تَمْرٍ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ: 'Whoever buys a sheep with its udder bound to appear full of milk (musarrah), he has the option for three days. If he wishes, he keeps it, and if he wishes, he returns it along with a sa' of dates — not wheat.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏خَيْرُكُمْ إِسْلَامًا أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا إِذَا فَقُهُوا ‏

Waki' narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best of you in Islam are the best in character, when they attain understanding.' — And he said: 'The best of you are the best to their women.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْأَعْمَشُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَا مِنْ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ إِلَّا عَلَى الْمِلَّةِ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ مَرَّةً كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ عَلَى ‏ ‏الْفِطْرَةِ ‏ ‏فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ وَيُشْرِكَانِهِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ مَاتَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no child born except upon the fitrah [natural disposition].' — And he said in another narration: 'except upon this religion. Then his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian, just as an animal produces a whole animal — do you find any born mutilated?' Then Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) recited: 'The fitrah of Allah upon which He created mankind' [Quran 30:30].

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْأَعْمَشُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي حَازِمٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏لَوْ أُهْدِيَ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعٌ لَقَبِلْتُ وَلَوْ دُعِيتُ إِلَى ‏ ‏كُرَاعٍ ‏ ‏لَأَجَبْتُ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If I were given a foreleg as a gift, I would accept it, and if I were invited to a meal of a trotter, I would respond.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏مَوْلَى ‏ ‏التَّوْأَمَةِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ مَجْلِسًا لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِيهِ وَلَمْ يُصَلُّوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِلَّا كَانَ ‏ ‏تِرَةً ‏ ‏عَلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Salih, the freed slave of al-Taw'amah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember Allah and do not send blessings upon their Prophet except that it will be a source of regret for them. If He wills, He will punish them, and if He wills, He will forgive them.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏الْمَعْنَى ‏ ‏وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ الْأَعْرَجِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قُرَيْشٌ ‏ ‏وَالْأَنْصَارُ ‏ ‏وَأَشْجَعُ ‏ ‏وَغِفَارٌ ‏ ‏وَأَسْلَمُ ‏ ‏وَمُزَيْنَةُ ‏ ‏وَجُهَيْنَةُ ‏ ‏مَوَالِي ‏ ‏اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لَا ‏ ‏مَوْلَى ‏ ‏لَهُمْ غَيْرَهُ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ‏ ‏مَوَالِيَّ ‏ ‏لَيْسَ لَهُمْ ‏ ‏مَوْلًى ‏ ‏دُونَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan — and 'Abd al-Rahman said: Sufyan narrated to us with the same meaning — and Abu Nu'aym said: Sufyan narrated to us — from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hurmuz, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'None of you should say: My slave (abdi), my female slave (amati), for all of you are slaves of Allah, and all of your women are female slaves of Allah. Rather let him say: my boy (ghulami), my girl (jariyati), my young man (fataya), and my young woman (fatati).'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏الْأَعْمَشُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏انْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَا تَنْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ فَوْقَكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ ‏ ‏أَجْدَرُ ‏ ‏أَنْ لَا ‏ ‏تَزْدَرُوا ‏ ‏نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to me, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Look at those below you and do not look at those above you, for that is more likely to prevent you from belittling the blessings of Allah upon you.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حَمَّادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏ثَابِتٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي رَافِعٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ خَرَجَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَرْيَتِهِ يَزُورُ أَخًا لَهُ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أُخْرَى فَأَرْصَدَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَلَكًا فَجَلَسَ عَلَى طَرِيقِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ قَالَ أُرِيدُ أَخًا لِي أَزُورُهُ فِي اللَّهِ فِي هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ قَالَ لَهُ هَلْ لَهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تَرُبُّهَا قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُهُ فِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ فَإِنِّي رَسُولُ رَبِّكَ إِلَيْكَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحَبَّكَ بِمَا أَحْبَبْتَهُ فِيهِ ‏

Waki' narrated to us, from Hammad, from Thabit, from Abu Rafi', from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'A man went out from his village to visit a brother of his in another village. Allah stationed an angel on his path. When he came to him, the angel said: Where are you headed? He said: I am going to visit a brother of mine in this village. He said: Do you have any favor upon him that you wish to cultivate? He said: No, except that I love him for the sake of Allah (عز وجل). He said: I am a messenger of Allah to you, [informing you] that Allah loves you as you have loved him for His sake.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ وَلَا ‏ ‏تَجَسَّسُوا ‏ ‏وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا ‏

Surayj ibn al-Nu'man narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Hilal ibn 'Ali, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi 'Amrah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'There are seven whom Allah will shade under His shade on a Day when there is no shade except His shade: a just imam; a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah (عز وجل); a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who love each other for the sake of Allah, meeting and parting upon that; a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position, and he says: I fear Allah; a man who gives charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has spent; and a man who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes overflow with tears.'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا ‏ ‏اسْتَجْمَرَ ‏ ‏أَحَدُكُمْ ‏ ‏فَلْيُوتِرْ ‏ ‏وَإِذَا ‏ ‏وَلَغَ ‏ ‏الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَلَا يَمْنَعْ فَضْلَ مَاءٍ لِيَمْنَعَ بِهِ ‏ ‏الْكَلَأَ ‏ ‏وَمِنْ حَقِّ الْإِبِلِ أَنْ تُحْلَبَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ يَوْمَ وِرْدِهَا ‏

And with this chain of narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you uses stones to clean himself (istijmar), let him use an odd number. And when a dog laps in the vessel of one of you, let him wash it seven times. And let not excess water be withheld so as to prevent the growth of pasture.'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ ‏ ‏أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حِينَ يَذْكُرُنِي إِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي نَفْسِهِ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي نَفْسِي وَإِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي مَلَإٍ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي مَلَإٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْ مَلَئِهِ الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُنِي فِيهِمْ وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ الْعَبْدُ مِنِّي شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ‏ ‏بَاعًا ‏ ‏وَإِذَا جَاءَنِي يَمْشِي جِئْتُهُ ‏ ‏أُهَرْوِلُ ‏ ‏لَهُ ‏ ‏الْمَنُّ ‏ ‏وَالْفَضْلُ ‏

And with this chain of narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah (عز وجل) says: I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me within himself, I remember him within Myself. If he remembers Me in an assembly, I remember him in an assembly better than it. If he draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by an arm's length. If he draws near to Me by an arm's length, I draw near to him by a fathom. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏لَا أَزَالُ أُقَاتِلُ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَإِذَا قَالُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَقَدْ ‏ ‏عَصَمُوا ‏ ‏مِنِّي أَمْوَالَهُمْ وَأَنْفُسَهُمْ إِلَّا ‏ ‏بِحَقِّهَا ‏ ‏وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏

And with this chain of narration, [the Prophet ﷺ] (ﷺ) said: 'I will continue to fight the people until they say La ilaha illa Allah. When they say La ilaha illa Allah, they have protected their blood and their wealth from me, except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah (عز وجل).'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏ذَرُونِي ‏ ‏مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا أَهْلَكَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَثْرَةُ سُؤَالِهِمْ وَاخْتِلَافُهُمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ وَلَكِنْ مَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا وَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Hilal ibn 'Ali, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi 'Amrah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Leave me as long as I have left you. Those who came before you were destroyed because of their excessive questioning and their disagreement with their prophets. So when I forbid you from something, avoid it, and when I command you with something, do as much of it as you are able.'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏لَنْ يُنْجِيَ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ ‏ ‏يَتَغَمَّدَنِي ‏ ‏اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِفَضْلٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ وَلَكِنْ ‏ ‏قَارِبُوا ‏ ‏وَسَدِّدُوا ‏ ‏وَأَبْشِرُوا ‏

And with this chain of narration, [the Prophet ﷺ] (ﷺ) said: 'None of you will be saved by his deeds.' They said: 'Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Not even me, unless Allah envelops me with His mercy and grace. So strive to be correct and moderate, and worship in the morning, in the evening, and during some of the night. And stick to moderation, moderation — through it you will reach [your destination].'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَنَا أَوْلَى النَّاسِ ‏ ‏بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ ‏ ‏فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ إِخْوَةٌ مِنْ ‏ ‏عَلَّاتٍ ‏ ‏أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ شَتَّى وَدِينُهُمْ وَاحِدٌ ‏

And with this chain of narration, [the Prophet ﷺ] (ﷺ) said: 'I am the closest of all people to 'Isa ibn Maryam (عليه السلام) in this world and the Hereafter. the Prophet ﷺs are paternal brothers (from different mothers); their mothers are different but their religion is one.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَنْزِلُ ‏ ‏عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ‏ ‏إِمَامًا عَادِلًا وَحَكَمًا مُقْسِطًا فَيَكْسِرُ الصَّلِيبَ وَيَقْتُلُ الْخِنْزِيرَ وَيُرْجِعُ السَّلْمَ وَيَتَّخِذُ السُّيُوفَ مَنَاجِلَ وَتَذْهَبُ ‏ ‏حُمَةُ ‏ ‏كُلِّ ذَاتِ ‏ ‏حُمَةٍ ‏ ‏وَتُنْزِلُ السَّمَاءُ رِزْقَهَا وَتُخْرِجُ الْأَرْضُ بَرَكَتَهَا حَتَّى يَلْعَبَ ‏ ‏الصَّبِيُّ بِالثُّعْبَانِ فَلَا يَضُرُّهُ ‏ ‏وَيُرَاعِي الْغَنَمَ الذِّئْبُ فَلَا يَضُرُّهَا ‏ ‏وَيُرَاعِي الْأَسَدُ الْبَقَرَ فَلَا يَضُرُّهَا ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from al-Harith ibn Fudayl al-Ansari, from Ziyad ibn Sa'd, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ''Isa ibn Maryam (عليه السلام) will descend as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the swine, and abolish the jizyah. Wealth will overflow until no one accepts it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَبِيحَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏خَيْرُ الصَّدَقَةِ ‏ ‏الْمَنِيحَةُ ‏ ‏تَغْدُو ‏ ‏بِأَجْرٍ ‏ ‏وَتَرُوحُ ‏ ‏بِأَجْرٍ ‏ ‏مَنِيحَةُ ‏ ‏النَّاقَةِ كَعِتَاقَةِ الْأَحْمَرِ ‏ ‏وَمَنِيحَةُ ‏ ‏الشَّاةِ كَعِتَاقَةِ الْأَسْوَدِ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Husayn al-Aslami, from 'Abd Allah ibn Sabihah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if one of you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْد اللَّهِ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَلَمَةَ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ إِذَا سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ ‏ ‏وَلَّى ‏ ‏وَلَهُ ‏ ‏حُصَاصٌ ‏ ‏فَإِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى ‏ ‏يَخْطِرَ ‏ ‏بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ لِيُنْسِيَهُ صَلَاتَهُ فَإِذَا شَكَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيُسَلِّمْ ثُمَّ لِيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ‏

'Abd Allah narrated to me — Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Safwan ibn Salamah al-Zuraqi, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever performs the funeral prayer will have one qirat [of reward]. And whoever follows the funeral procession until burial will have two qirats.' It was said: 'And what are the two qirats?' He said: 'Like two great mountains.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُهَيْلٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Suhayl, meaning Ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you stands in his prayer, he is conversing intimately with his Lord — or his Lord is between him and the qiblah. So let him not spit in front of him, but rather to his left or beneath his foot.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ الثَّقَفِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏الْمَدِينَةُ ‏ ‏وَمَكَّةُ ‏ ‏مَحْفُوفَتَانِ بِالْمَلَائِكَةِ عَلَى كُلِّ ‏ ‏نَقْبٍ ‏ ‏مِنْهَا مَلَكٌ لَا يَدْخُلُهَا ‏ ‏الدَّجَّالُ ‏ ‏وَلَا الطَّاعُونُ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn al-'Ala' al-Thaqafi, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Madinah and Makkah are surrounded by angels. At every passage there is an angel guarding it. Neither the plague nor the Dajjal will enter them.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَيُّوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏لَا يَقُومُ الرَّجُلُ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ وَلَكِنْ أَفْسِحُوا يَفْسَحْ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَإِذَا صَنَعَ خَادِمُ أَحَدِكُمْ طَعَامًا فَوَلِيَ ‏ ‏حَرَّهُ ‏ ‏وَمَشَقَّتَهُ فَلْيَدْعُهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ مَعَهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَدْعُهُ فَلْيُنَاوِلْهُ مِنْهُ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Ayyub ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'sa'ah al-Ansari, from Ya'qub ibn Abi Ya'qub, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not fast on Friday unless [you fast] a day before it or a day after it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏فُلَيْحٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُهَيْلٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَنْ سَبَّحَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَكَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَحَمِدَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ وَقَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ خَلْفَ الصَّلَاةِ غُفِرَ لَهُ ذَنْبُهُ وَلَوْ كَانَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ‏ ‏زَبَدِ ‏ ‏الْبَحْرِ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Suhayl, meaning Ibn Abi Salih, from Abu 'Ubayd, from 'Ata' ibn Yazid, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'People will be raised on the Day of Resurrection in three categories: two riding and one walking. As for those riding, some ride in twos on a camel, some three on a camel, some four, and some ten on a camel. And the Fire will gather the rest, resting where they rest, spending the night where they spend the night, and reaching the morning where they reach the morning.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ ‏ ‏ثُمَامَةَ بْنَ أُثَالٍ الْحَنَفِيَّ ‏ ‏أَسْلَمَ ‏ ‏فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَنْ يُنْطَلَقَ بِهِ إِلَى ‏ ‏حَائِطِ ‏ ‏أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ‏ ‏فَيَغْتَسِلَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَدْ حَسُنَ إِسْلَامُ صَاحِبِكُمْ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, 'Abd Allah, meaning Ibn 'Umar, narrated to us, from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that Thumamah ibn Uthal al-Hanafi accepted Islam, and the Prophet ﷺ ordered him to take a bath.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُرَيْجٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏لَأَعْرِفَنَّ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ أَتَاهُ عَنِّي حَدِيثٌ وَهُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ فِي ‏ ‏أَرِيكَتِهِ ‏ ‏فَيَقُولُ اتْلُوا بِهِ عَلَيَّ قُرْآنًا ‏ ‏مَا جَاءَكُمْ عَنِّي مِنْ خَيْرٍ قُلْتُهُ أَوْ لَمْ أَقُلْهُ فَأَنَا أَقُولُ وَمَا أَتَاكُمْ مِنْ شَرٍّ فَإِنِّي لَا أَقُولُ الشَّرَّ ‏

Surayj narrated to us, Abu Ma'shar narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Let me certainly find one of you, to whom a hadith from me has come while he is reclining on his couch, saying: Between us and you is the Book of Allah. Whatever we find in it as permissible, we deem permissible, and whatever we find in it as forbidden, we deem forbidden. Indeed, what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden is like what Allah has forbidden.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْخَزْرَجُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ السَّعْدِيُّ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو أَيُّوبَ ‏ ‏مَوْلًى ‏ ‏لِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قِيدُ ‏ ‏سَوْطِ أَحَدِكُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَمِثْلِهَا مَعَهَا وَلَقَابُ ‏ ‏قَوْسِ ‏ ‏أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَمِثْلِهَا مَعَهَا وَلَنَصِيفُ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا وَمِثْلِهَا مَعَهَا ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قُلْتُ يَا ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏مَا النَّصِيفُ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏الْخِمَارُ ‏

Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, al-Khazraj ibn 'Uthman al-Sa'di narrated to us, Abu Ayyub, the freed slave of 'Uthman ibn 'Affan, narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no man who gives his wife a dirham to spend except that he will be rewarded for it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يُونُسُ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْخَزْرَجُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏دَخَلْتُ مَعَهُ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَرَأَى غُلَامًا فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا غُلَامُ اذْهَبْ الْعَبْ قَالَ إِنَّمَا جِئْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ يَا غُلَامُ اذْهَبْ الْعَبْ قَالَ إِنَّمَا جِئْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ فَتَقْعُدُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الْإِمَامُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَجِيءُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَتَقْعُدُ عَلَى أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَيَكْتُبُونَ السَّابِقَ وَالثَّانِيَ وَالثَّالِثَ وَالنَّاسَ عَلَى مَنَازِلِهِمْ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ الْإِمَامُ فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الْإِمَامُ طُوِيَتْ الصُّحُفُ ‏

Yunus narrated to us, al-Khazraj narrated to us, from Abu Ayyub, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: I entered the mosque with him on a Friday. He saw a boy and said to him: 'O boy, go and play.' He said: 'I only came for the prayer.' Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'If one of you comes on Friday while the imam is delivering the khutbah, let him pray two rak'ahs and make them brief.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏الْخَزْرَجُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُثْمَانَ السَّعْدِيَّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ‏ ‏يَعْنِي مَوْلَى ‏ ‏عُثْمَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ أَعْمَالَ بَنِي ‏ ‏آدَمَ ‏ ‏تُعْرَضُ كُلَّ خَمِيسٍ لَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَلَا يُقْبَلُ عَمَلُ قَاطِعِ رَحِمٍ ‏

Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, al-Khazraj, meaning Ibn 'Uthman al-Sa'di, narrated to us, from Abu Ayyub, meaning the freed slave of 'Uthman, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The first thing for which a servant is held accountable on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. If it is complete, it is written as complete. If it is not complete, the Lord (عز وجل) says: Look, does My servant have any voluntary prayers? If he has voluntary prayers, [they are used to] complete his obligatory prayers. Then the rest of his deeds are treated in the same manner.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يُونُسُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْخَزْرَجُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏أَوْصَانِي ‏ ‏أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏خَلِيلِي ‏ ‏بِثَلَاثٍ لَا أَدَعُهُنَّ الْغُسْلُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَصَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ‏ ‏وَالْوَتْرُ ‏ ‏قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ ‏

Yunus narrated to us, al-Khazraj narrated to us, from Abu Ayyub, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: Abu al-Qasim (ﷺ), my beloved friend, advised me with three things that I will never abandon: bathing on Friday, fasting three days of every month, and praying the witr before sleeping.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مَنْصُورٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي حَازِمٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَنْ حَجَّ ‏ ‏الْبَيْتَ ‏ ‏فَلَمْ ‏ ‏يَرْفُثْ ‏ ‏وَلَمْ يَفْسُقْ رَجَعَ كَمَا وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ ‏ ‏أَوْ كَمَا خَرَجَ مِنْ بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ ‏

Waki' and 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Mansur, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever performs Hajj to this House and does not engage in sexual relations, nor commit sin, he returns [free of sins] as the day his mother bore him.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏مَوْلَى ‏ ‏التَّوْأَمَةِ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏صَلَاةٌ فِي ‏ ‏مَسْجِدِي ‏ ‏هَذَا خَيْرٌ ‏ ‏أَوْ أَفْضَلُ ‏ ‏مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنْ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلَّا ‏ ‏الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ ‏

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Salih, the freed slave of al-Taw'amah, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque, except al-Masjid al-Haram.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَنْ يَشْتَرِيَ حَاضِرٌ ‏ ‏لِبَادٍ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ‏ ‏لَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ ‏ ‏لِبَادٍ ‏

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan — and Abu Nu'aym said: Sufyan narrated to us — from Salih, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited a man from selling over the sale of his brother, or proposing marriage over the proposal of his brother.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَا جَلَسَ قَوْمٌ مَجْلِسًا لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا فِيهِ رَبَّهُمْ وَيُصَلُّوا فِيهِ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِمْ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِلَّا كَانَ عَلَيْهِمْ ‏ ‏تِرَةً ‏ ‏يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنْ شَاءَ آخَذَهُمْ بِهِ وَإِنْ شَاءَ عَفَا عَنْهُمْ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مُؤَمَّلٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏صَالِحِ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَا اجْتَمَعَ قَوْمٌ ‏ ‏فَذَكَرَهُ ‏

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember their Lord and do not send blessings upon their Prophet except that it will be a source of regret for them on the Day of Resurrection, even if they enter Paradise, because of [the missed] reward.'
