Hadith #24
Arabic Text
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُوتِرْ وَإِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَلَا يَمْنَعْ فَضْلَ مَاءٍ لِيَمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلَأَ وَمِنْ حَقِّ الْإِبِلِ أَنْ تُحْلَبَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ يَوْمَ وِرْدِهَا
English Translation
And with this chain of narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you uses stones to clean himself (istijmar), let him use an odd number. And when a dog laps in the vessel of one of you, let him wash it seven times. And let not excess water be withheld so as to prevent the growth of pasture.'
