‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا ‏ ‏اسْتَجْمَرَ ‏ ‏أَحَدُكُمْ ‏ ‏فَلْيُوتِرْ ‏ ‏وَإِذَا ‏ ‏وَلَغَ ‏ ‏الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَلَا يَمْنَعْ فَضْلَ مَاءٍ لِيَمْنَعَ بِهِ ‏ ‏الْكَلَأَ ‏ ‏وَمِنْ حَقِّ الْإِبِلِ أَنْ تُحْلَبَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ يَوْمَ وِرْدِهَا ‏

English Translation

And with this chain of narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you uses stones to clean himself (istijmar), let him use an odd number. And when a dog laps in the vessel of one of you, let him wash it seven times. And let not excess water be withheld so as to prevent the growth of pasture.'
