Hadith #25
Arabic Text
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي وَأَنَا مَعَهُ حِينَ يَذْكُرُنِي إِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي نَفْسِهِ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي نَفْسِي وَإِنْ ذَكَرَنِي فِي مَلَإٍ ذَكَرْتُهُ فِي مَلَإٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْ مَلَئِهِ الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُنِي فِيهِمْ وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ الْعَبْدُ مِنِّي شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا وَإِنْ تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا وَإِذَا جَاءَنِي يَمْشِي جِئْتُهُ أُهَرْوِلُ لَهُ الْمَنُّ وَالْفَضْلُ
English Translation
And with this chain of narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah (عز وجل) says: I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me within himself, I remember him within Myself. If he remembers Me in an assembly, I remember him in an assembly better than it. If he draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by an arm's length. If he draws near to Me by an arm's length, I draw near to him by a fathom. If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.'
