حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ
الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا أَهْلَكَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَثْرَةُ سُؤَالِهِمْ وَاخْتِلَافُهُمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ وَلَكِنْ مَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا وَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ

English Translation
Surayj narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Hilal ibn 'Ali, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi 'Amrah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Leave me as long as I have left you. Those who came before you were destroyed because of their excessive questioning and their disagreement with their prophets. So when I forbid you from something, avoid it, and when I command you with something, do as much of it as you are able.'
