English Translation
Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, al-Khazraj, meaning Ibn 'Uthman al-Sa'di, narrated to us, from Abu Ayyub, meaning the freed slave of 'Uthman, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The first thing for which a servant is held accountable on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. If it is complete, it is written as complete. If it is not complete, the Lord (عز وجل) says: Look, does My servant have any voluntary prayers? If he has voluntary prayers, [they are used to] complete his obligatory prayers. Then the rest of his deeds are treated in the same manner.'
