English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, from his father, who said: Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) used to pray in al-Madinah in a manner similar to the prayer of Qays ibn Abi Hazim. I said to him: 'O Abu Hurayrah, how do you recite the opening [du'a] in the prayer?' He said: 'I say: O Allah, distance me from my sins as You have distanced the East from the West. O Allah, cleanse me of my sins as a white garment is cleansed of filth. O Allah, wash my sins with water, snow, and hail.'
