Hadith #288
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي
سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ وَهَذَا يَوْمُهُمْ الَّذِي فُرِضَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهُ فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ الْيَوْمَ لَنَا ولِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ

English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad informed us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'We are the last but the first on the Day of Resurrection, except that they were given the Book before us and we were given it after them. This is their day over which they differed, and Allah guided us to it—meaning Friday. So the people follow us in it: the Jews tomorrow (Saturday) and the Christians the day after (Sunday).'
