English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, from Sumayy, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'While a man was walking on a path, he became very thirsty. He found a well, descended into it, drank, then came out. There was a dog panting and eating moist earth from thirst. The man said: This dog is as thirsty as I was. So he went down into the well, filled his shoe with water, held it in his mouth, climbed out, and gave the dog water. Allah thanked him and forgave him.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is there reward for us concerning animals?' He said: 'In every living creature there is reward.'
