حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الزُّرَقِىِّ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَي
ْرَةَ قَالَ أَخَذَتْ النَّاسَ الرِّيحُ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ فَاشْتَدَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ مَا الرِّيحُ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعُوا إِلَيْهِ شَيْئًا فَبَلَغَنِي الَّذِي سَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَاسْتَحْثَثْتُ رَاحِلَتِي حَتَّى أَدْرَكْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أُخْبِرْتُ أَنَّكَ سَأَلْتَ عَنْ الرِّيحِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الرِّيحُ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَأْتِي بِالرَّحْمَةِ وَتَأْتِي بِالْعَذَابِ فَلَا تَسُبُّوهَا وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَعُوذُوا بِهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا

English Translation
Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, Yunus informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Thabit al-Zuraqi, that Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said: 'The wind caught the people on the road to Makkah and it became severe. Umar said to those around him: The wind only intensifies because of a sin, so let each of you look at what he has introduced. When they settled, Abu Hurayrah prayed and I heard him say in his du'a: O Allah, You are our Lord. You are our provision. You are our protector.' He reported it from the Prophet ﷺ.
