حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيَدَعَنَّ رِجَالٌ فَخْرَهُمْ بِأ
َقْوَامٍ إِنَّمَا هُمْ فَحْمٌ مِنْ فَحْمِ جَهَنَّمَ أَوْ لَيَكُونُنَّ أَهْوَنَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ الْجِعْلَانِ الَّتِي تَدْفَعُ بِأَنْفِهَا النَّتِنَ وَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَذْهَبَ عَنْكُمْ عُبِّيَّةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَفَخْرَهَا بِالْآبَاءِ مُؤْمِنٌ تَقِيٌّ وَفَاجِرٌ شَقِيٌّ النَّاسُ بَنُو آدَمَ وَآدَمُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Men must stop boasting about their ancestors who have passed away. For they are but the fuel of Hellfire, or they will certainly be more insignificant to Allah than the dung beetle that pushes filth with its nose. Allah has removed from you the arrogance of jahiliyyah and its boasting about ancestors. One is either a God-fearing believer or a wretched sinner. People are all the children of Adam, and Adam was created from dust.'
