حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَز
َّ وَجَلَّ لَيُبَيِّتُ الْقَوْمَ بِالنِّعْمَةِ ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَافِرُونَ يَقُولُونَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَجْمِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ فَقَالَ وَنَحْنُ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: By the One in whose hand is my soul, I was about to order firewood to be gathered, then order the call to prayer to be given, then order a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go to men who do not attend the prayer and burn their houses down upon them. By the One in whose hand is my soul, if any one of them knew that he would find a fat bone or two good sheep hooves, he would attend the 'Isha prayer.'
