English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i recited to 'Abd al-Rahman: Malik — and Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us — from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'By Him in Whose hand is my soul, I was about to order firewood to be gathered, then order the prayer to be called, then order a man to lead the people, then I would go to men [who do not attend the prayer] and burn their houses upon them. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if one of them knew that he would find a fat bone or two good hooves [of a sheep], he would attend the 'Isha prayer.'
