English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: While I was sleeping, I found myself at a well, and I drew from it as much as Allah willed me to draw. Then Ibn Abi Quhafah [Abu Bakr] took it and drew one or two bucketfuls — and there was weakness in his drawing, and Allah will forgive him. Then 'Umar ibn al-Khattab took it, and it became a large bucket in his hand. I have never seen a chief among the people do what he did until the people had watered their camels to their fill.'
