English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the dead is placed in his grave, two black-blue angels come to him. One of them is called Munkar and the other is called Nakir. They say: What did you used to say about this man? He says what he used to say: He is the servant of Allah and His Messenger. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. They say: We knew you would say that. Then his grave is expanded for him seventy cubits by seventy cubits, and it is lit up for him. Then it is said to him: Sleep. He says: May I return to my family to inform them? They say: Sleep the sleep of the newlywed who is awakened only by the most beloved of his family, until Allah raises him from that resting place.'
