حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ

عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ الْمَدَنِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعٌ لَا يَدَعُهَا النَّاسُ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ النِّيَاحَةُ وَالتَّعَايُرُ فِي الْأَحْسَابِ وَقَوْلُهُمْ سُقِينَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَالْعَدْوَى جَرِبَ بَعِيرٌ فَأَجْرَبَ مِائَةَ بَعِيرٍ فَمَنْ أَجْرَبَ الْأَوَّلَ

English Translation

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the appointed time of one of you comes, and he has not memorized even a small portion of the Quran, the prayer in it is not acceptable.'
