Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَالِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَازِمٍ

يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَشَاهِدٌ يَوْمَ مَاتَ الْحَسَنُ فَذَكَرَ الْقِصَّةَ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَحَبَّهُمَا فَقَدْ أَحَبَّنِي وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمَا فَقَدْ أَبْغَضَنِي

English Translation

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated: Abu Hazim said: 'I was present on the day al-Hasan [ibn 'Ali] died.' He mentioned the story. Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever loves them has loved me, and whoever hates them has hated me' — meaning al-Hasan and al-Husayn (رضي الله عنهما).
