English Translation

Ibn Numayr narrated to us, al-A'mash informed us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Bakhtari, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Let not any of you belittle himself.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how would any of us belittle himself?' He said: 'He sees a matter concerning Allah about which he should speak, but he does not speak. So Allah عز وجل will say to him on the Day of Resurrection: "What prevented you from speaking about such-and-such matter?" He will say: "Fear of the people." He will say: "Rather, it is I whom you should have feared."'
