حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ
أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا يُصِيبُ الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنْ وَصَبٍ وَلَا نَصَبٍ وَلَا هَمٍّ وَلَا حَزَنٍ وَلَا أَذًى وَلَا غَمٍّ حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةِ يُشَاكُهَا إِلَّا كَفَّرَ اللَّهُ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُ

English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn Halhala, from 'Ata' ibn Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed a man over Khaybar. He brought him dates of excellent quality. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Are all the dates of Khaybar like this?' He said: No, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah. We buy one sa' of these for two sa's of the other, and two sa's of these for three sa's of the other. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not do that. Rather sell the mixed dates for dirhams, then buy with the dirhams the better quality dates.'
