English Translation
Abu Sa'id narrated to us, Abu 'Aqil narrated to us, he said: Abu Nadrah narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id (رضي الله عنه) who said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'The staple food of my family' — meaning, they eat mostly lizard meat. the Prophet ﷺ did not respond. We said: 'Ask him again.' So he asked, and on the third time the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Bedouin, indeed Allah cursed — or was angry with — a tribe from the Children of Israel and transformed them into crawling creatures of the earth. I do not know whether this is one of them or not. So I neither eat it nor prohibit it.'
