English Translation
Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Raja', from his father who said: The first to bring out the minbar on the day of Eid was Marwan, and the first to begin with the khutbah before the prayer was Marwan. A man stood up to him and said: You have opposed the Sunnah! He said: O so-and-so, what was done has been abandoned. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) said: As for this man, he has fulfilled his duty. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is unable to, then with his tongue. If he is unable to, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.'
