حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَيْرِيزٍ الْجُمَحِيُّ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا فَنُحِبُّ الْإِثْمَانَ فَكَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ
سَلَّمَ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكُمْ لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَّا هِيَ خَارِجَةٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَوْزاعِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ شُعَيْبٍ

English Translation
Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, Abdullah ibn Muhayriz al-Jumahi informed me, that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) informed him that while he was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, a man from the Ansar came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we take female captives and we value the ransom, so what do you say about 'azl [coitus interruptus]?" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do you really do that? There is no harm if you do not do that, for there is no soul that Allah has decreed to exist until the Day of Resurrection except that it will come into existence."
