English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, Ibn Abi Layla narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ said: "Charity is not permissible for a rich person except in five cases: one who is employed to collect it, or a man who bought it with his own money, or a man who is in debt, or a man who is fighting in the cause of Allah, or a poor person who receives it as charity and gives it as a gift to a rich person."
