‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ ‏ ‏وَعُمَرَ ‏ ‏وَعُثْمَانَ ‏ ‏كَانُوا ‏ ‏يَفْتَتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ ‏ { ‏الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ‏}

English Translation

Isma'il narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman (رضي الله عنهم) used to begin the recitation with "Al-hamdu lillahi Rabb al-'alamin" [All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds].
