English Translation
Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Qays ibn Muslim, from Tariq ibn Shihab who said: The first person to begin the khutbah on the day of Eid before the prayer was Marwan ibn al-Hakam. A man stood up to him and said: 'The prayer comes before the khutbah.' He replied: 'What was done has been abandoned.' Abu Sa'id (رضي الله عنه) said: 'As for this man, he has fulfilled his duty. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is unable, then with his tongue. If he is unable, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.'
