English Translation

Ibn Abi 'Adiyy narrated from Humayd, and Yazid — both said: Humayd narrated to us — from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: I was playing with the boys when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and greeted us — Yazid said in his narration: 'greeted us' — and he took me by the hand and sent me on an errand. I came to my mother late, and she asked: 'What kept you?' I said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand.' She said: 'What was it?' I said: 'It is a secret.' She said: 'Do not tell anyone the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Anas said: By Allah, had I told anyone, I would have told you, O Thabit.
