حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ وَرَوْحٌ قَالَا ثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو قَزَعَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا نَضْرَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ وَحَسَنًا أَخْبَرَهُمَا أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ لَمَّا أَتَوْا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ جَعَلَنَا اللَّهُ فِدَاءَكَ مَاذَا يَصْلُحُ لَنَا فِي ا
لْأَشْرِبَةِ فَقَالَ لَا تَشْرَبُوا فِي النَّقِيرِ فَقَالُوا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ جَعَلنَا اللَّهُ فِدَاءَكَ أَوَتَدْرِ مَا النَّقِيرُ قَالَ نَعَمْ الْجِذْعُ يُنْقَرُ وَسَطُهُ وَلَا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَلَا فِي الْحَنْتَمَةِ وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُوكَإِ قَالَ رَوْحٌ بِالْمُوكَإِ مَرَّتَيْنِ

English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq and Rawh narrated to us, they said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, Abu Qaz'ah informed me that Abu Nadrah informed him, and al-Hasan informed them both, that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) informed him that a delegation came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from 'Abd al-Qays. They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are from the tribe of Rabi'ah, and between us and you are the disbelievers of Mudar, so we can only come to you in the sacred month. Command us with something decisive that we can act upon and call those behind us to.' He said: 'I command you with four things and forbid you from four things: faith in Allah — do you know what faith in Allah is? Testifying that there is no god but Allah, establishing the prayer, giving the zakah, and fasting Ramadan, and giving one-fifth of the spoils. And I forbid you from [drinking from] al-dubba', al-hantam, al-muqayyar, and al-naqir.'
