حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النّ
َارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ لَكَ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَكُنْتَ مُفْتَدِيًا بِهِ قَالَ فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَيَقُولُ قَدْ أَرَدْتُ مِنْكَ أَهْوَنَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَدْ أَخَذْتُ عَلَيْكَ فِي ظَهْرِ آدَمَ أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكَ بِي شَيْئًا فَأَبَيْتَ إِلَّا أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِي

English Translation
Hajjaj narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to me from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'It will be said to the man from the people of the Fire on the Day of Resurrection: Do you think that if you had everything on earth, would you ransom yourself with it?' He will say: 'Yes.' Allah will say: 'I had asked you for something less than that — I took a covenant from you while you were in the loins of Adam that you would not associate anything with Me, but you insisted on associating partners with Me.'
