Hadith #3Ungraded

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ ‏ ‏وَعُمَرَ ‏ ‏فَكَانُوا يَفْتَتِحُونَ ‏ ‏بِ ‏ { ‏الْحَمْدُ ‏}

Sufyan narrated from Abu Ayyub, from Qatadah, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: I prayed behind the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr, and 'Umar, and they would begin with 'al-Hamdu lillahi Rabb al-'Alamin' — they did not mention 'Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim' at the beginning or end of the recitation.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَحْيَى ‏ ‏قِيلَ ‏ ‏لِسُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏يَعْنِي ‏ ‏سَمِعَ مِنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏دَعَا النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏الْأَنْصَارَ ‏ ‏لِيُقْطِعَ لَهُمْ ‏ ‏الْبَحْرَيْنِ ‏ ‏فَقَالُوا لَا حَتَّى تُقْطِعَ لِإِخْوَانِنَا مِنْ ‏ ‏الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ‏ ‏مِثْلَنَا فَقَالَ ‏ ‏إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي ‏ ‏أَثَرَةً ‏ ‏فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي ‏

Sufyan narrated from Yahya — it was said to Sufyan: meaning he heard from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ summoned the Ansar to grant them land in Bahrain. They said: 'Not until you grant the same to our brothers from the Muhajirun.' He said: 'You will find others preferred over you after me, so be patient until you meet me at the Hawd (the Pool).'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَيُّوبَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏صَبَّحَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏خَيْبَرَ ‏ ‏بُكْرَةً ‏ ‏وَقَدْ خَرَجُوا ‏ ‏بِالْمَسَاحِي ‏ ‏فَلَمَّا نَظَرُوا إِلَيْهِ قَالُوا ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٌ ‏ ‏وَالْخَمِيسُ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٌ ‏ ‏وَالْخَمِيسُ ‏ ‏ثُمَّ أَحَالُوا يَسْعَوْنَ إِلَى الْحِصْنِ وَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ كَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ ‏ ‏خَرِبَتْ ‏ ‏خَيْبَرُ ‏ ‏إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ فَأَصَبْنَا حُمُرًا خَارِجَةً مِنْ الْقَرْيَةِ فَاطَّبَخْنَاهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَسُولَهُ يَنْهَيَانِكُمْ عَنْ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ فَإِنَّهَا ‏ ‏رِجْسٌ ‏ ‏مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٌ ‏ ‏وَالْخَمِيسُ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ وَالْجَيْشُ ‏

Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated from Ayyub, from Muhammad, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ attacked Khaybar at dawn, and the people had come out with their spades. When they saw him, they said: 'Muhammad and the army!' and they fled to their fortress. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon the territory of a people, evil is the morning for those who have been warned.' He captured their fortified settlements one by one.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَاصِمٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏عَلَى ‏ ‏سَرِيَّةٍ ‏ ‏مَا وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِمْ كَانُوا يُسَمَّوْنَ الْقُرَّاءَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏نَزَلَ فِيهِمْ بَلِّغُوا قَوْمَنَا عَنَّا أَنَّا قَدْ رَضِينَا وَرَضِيَ عَنَّا قِيلَ ‏ ‏لِسُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏فِيمَنْ نَزَلَتْ قَالَ فِي أَهْلِ ‏ ‏بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ ‏

Sufyan narrated from 'Asim, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never grieved for any expedition as much as he grieved for the companions of Bi'r Ma'unah. They were called al-Qurra' (the Reciters). Sufyan said: A verse was revealed concerning them: 'Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord; He is pleased with us and has made us pleased.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏التَّيْمِيِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ وَكَانَ لَهُ ‏ ‏حَادٍ ‏ ‏يُقَالُ لَهُ ‏ ‏أَنْجَشَةُ ‏ ‏وَكَانَتْ ‏ ‏أُمُّ أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏مَعَهُمْ فَقَالَ يَا ‏ ‏أَنْجَشَةُ ‏ ‏رُوَيْدَكَ ‏ ‏بِالْقَوَارِيرِ ‏

Sufyan narrated from al-Taymi, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ was on a journey and had a camel driver called Anjasha, and Anas's mother (Umm Sulaym) was with them. He said: 'O Anjasha, drive gently with the glass vessels!' — meaning the women.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏وَابْنُ سِيرِينَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏لَمَّا ‏ ‏رَمَى النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏جَمْرَةَ الْعَقَبَةِ ‏ ‏وَنَحَرَ هَدْيَهُ ‏ ‏حَجَمَ ‏ ‏وَأَعْطَى ‏ ‏الْحَجَّامَ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏مَرَّةً وَأَعْطَى الْحَالِقَ ‏ ‏شِقَّهُ ‏ ‏الْأَيْمَنَ فَحَلَقَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ ‏ ‏أَبَا طَلْحَةَ ‏ ‏ثُمَّ حَلَقَ الْأَيْسَرَ فَأَعْطَاهُ النَّاسَ ‏

Sufyan narrated from Hisham ibn Hassan, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) — and Ibn Sirin said: When the Prophet ﷺ threw the Jamrat al-'Aqabah and slaughtered his sacrificial animal, he had his head shaved and gave the hair to the barber. Sufyan said on another occasion: He gave the right side first, then the left.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏أَهْدَى ‏ ‏أُكَيْدِرُ ‏ ‏دُومَةَ ‏ ‏لِلنَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاة وَالسَّلَامُ ‏ ‏يَعْنِي حُلَّةً ‏ ‏فَأَعْجَبَ النَّاسَ حُسْنُهَا فَقَالَ ‏ ‏لَمَنَادِيلُ ‏ ‏سَعْدٍ ‏ ‏فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ ‏ ‏أَوْ أَحْسَنُ ‏ ‏مِنْهَا ‏

Sufyan narrated from Ibn Jud'an, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: Ukaydir of Dumah gifted a garment to the Prophet ﷺ (عليه الصلاة والسلام), and the people were amazed by its beauty. He said: 'The handkerchiefs of Sa'd in Paradise are better — or more beautiful — than this.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعَ ‏ ‏قَاسِمٌ الرَّحَّالُ ‏ ‏أَنَسًا ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاة وَالسَّلَامُ ‏ ‏خَرِبًا ‏ ‏لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ ‏ ‏وَكَانَ يَقْضِي فِيهَا حَاجَةً فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا مَذْعُورًا ‏ ‏أَوْ فَزِعًا ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا لَسَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ أَهْلِ الْقُبُورِ مَا أَسْمَعَنِي ‏

Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that qasim al-Rahhal heard Anas (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Prophet ﷺ (عليه الصلاة والسلام) entered some ruins belonging to Banu al-Najjar, and he would relieve himself there. He came out to us alarmed — or frightened — and said: 'Were it not that you would stop burying your dead, I would have asked Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave that I hear.' Then he said: 'Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the Fire, and from the punishment of the grave, and from the trial of the living and the dead, and from the trial of the False Messiah.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ مَيْسَرَةَ ‏ ‏وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ‏ ‏يَقُولَانِ سَمِعْنَا ‏ ‏أَنَسًا ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏بِالْمَدِينَةِ ‏ ‏أَرْبَعًا ‏ ‏وَبِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ ‏ ‏رَكْعَتَيْنِ ‏

Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i heard Ibrahim ibn Maysarah and Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir both saying: We heard Anas (رضي الله عنه) say: 'I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah four rak'ahs and at Dhu al-Hulayfah two rak'ahs.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏الْمُخْتَارَ بْنَ فُلْفُلٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سَأَلْتُ ‏ ‏أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ الشُّرْبِ فِي الْأَوْعِيَةِ فَقَالَ ‏ ‏نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏الْمُزَفَّتَةِ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قُلْتُ وَمَا ‏ ‏الْمُزَفَّتَةُ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏الْمُقَيَّرَةُ ‏ ‏قَالَ قُلْتُ فَالرَّصَاصُ وَالْقَارُورَةُ قَالَ مَا ‏ ‏بَأْسٌ ‏ ‏بِهِمَا قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ نَاسًا يَكْرَهُونَهُمَا قَالَ دَعْ مَا ‏ ‏يَرِيبُكَ ‏ ‏إِلَى مَا لَا ‏ ‏يَرِيبُكَ ‏ ‏فَإِنَّ كُلَّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ صَدَقْتَ السُّكْرُ حَرَامٌ فَالشَّرْبَةُ وَالشَّرْبَتَانِ عَلَى طَعَامِنَا قَالَ مَا أَسْكَرَ كَثِيرُهُ فَقَلِيلُهُ حَرَامٌ وَقَالَ الْخَمْرُ مِنْ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْعَسَلِ ‏ ‏وَالْحِنْطَةِ ‏ ‏وَالشَّعِيرِ وَالذُّرَةِ فَمَا خَمَّرْتَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ الْخَمْرُ ‏

'Abdullah ibn Idris said: I heard al-Mukhtar ibn Fulful who said: I asked Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) about drinking from certain vessels. He said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited pitch-lined vessels. And he said: 'Every intoxicant is forbidden.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا تَبَرَّزَ لِحَاجَتِهِ أَتَيْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ فَيَغْسِلُ بِهِ ‏

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated from Rawh ibn al-Qasim, from 'Ata' ibn Abi Maymunah, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would go out to relieve himself, I would bring him water and he would wash with it.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَنَا ‏ ‏أَيُّوبُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا كَانَ أَرْحَمَ بِالْعِيَالِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏إِبْرَاهِيمُ ‏ ‏مُسْتَرْضَعًا فِي ‏ ‏عَوَالِي ‏ ‏الْمَدِينَةِ ‏ ‏وَكَانَ يَنْطَلِقُ وَنَحْنُ مَعَهُ فَيَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ وَإِنَّهُ لَيُدَّخَنُ وَكَانَ ‏ ‏ظِئْرُهُ ‏ ‏قَيْنًا فَيَأْخُذُهُ فَيُقَبِّلُهُ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ قَالَ ‏ ‏عَمْرٌو ‏ ‏فَلَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ ‏ ‏إِبْرَاهِيمُ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ ‏ ‏إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏ابْنِي وَإِنَّهُ مَاتَ فِي الثَّدْيِ فَإِنَّ لَهُ ‏ ‏ظِئْرَيْنِ ‏ ‏يُكْمِلَانِ رَضَاعَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ‏

Sufyan narrated from Isma'il who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that ayyub informed us from 'Amr ibn Sa'id, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: I have never seen anyone more merciful to children than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. His son Ibrahim was being nursed in the outskirts of Madinah, and he would go to him and we would accompany him. He would enter the house, which was smoky because his wet-nurse's husband was a blacksmith, and he would pick up the child and kiss him, then return.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَنَا ‏ ‏أَنَسُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الْجَارُودِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏صَنَعَ بَعْضُ عُمُومَتِي لِلنَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏طَعَامًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ فِي بَيْتِي وَتُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُ وَفِي الْبَيْتِ ‏ ‏فَحْلٌ ‏ ‏مِنْ تِلْكَ الْفُحُولِ ‏ ‏فَأَمَرَ بِجَانِبٍ مِنْهُ فَكُنِسَ وَرُشَّ فَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ ‏

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated from Ibn 'Awn, from Anas ibn Sirin, from 'Abd al-Hamid ibn al-Mundhir ibn al-Jarud, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: One of my paternal uncles prepared food for the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'I would like you to eat and pray in my house.' the Prophet ﷺ came, and in the house there was a mat that had become darkened from long use. He sprinkled water on it, and the Prophet ﷺ prayed on it, and we prayed with him.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ ‏ ‏أَنَسًا ‏ ‏حَدَّثَهُمْ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ فَاشْتَدَّ قَوْلُهُ فِي ذَلِكَ حَتَّى قَالَ لَيَنْتَهُنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ أَوْ لَتُخْطَفَنَّ أَبْصَارُهُمْ ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Sa'id, from Qatadah, that Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated to them that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'What is the matter with people who raise their eyes to the sky during their prayer?' His words were so severe on this matter that he said: 'They must stop that, or their eyesight will be snatched away.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏شُعْبَةَ ‏ ‏وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَالْمَرْأَةُ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ يَغْتَسِلَانِ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَكَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ ‏ ‏مَكَاكِيَّ ‏ ‏وَيَتَوَضَّأُ ‏ ‏بِمَكُّوكٍ ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Shu'bah, and Ibn Ja'far narrated from Shu'bah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdullah ibn Jabr who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) say: the Prophet ﷺ and one of his wives would bathe from a single vessel. In another narration: from a single container of water.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏قَتَادَةُ ‏ ‏أَنَّ ‏ ‏أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَهُمْ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏صَعِدَ ‏ ‏أُحُدًا ‏ ‏فَتَبِعَهُ ‏ ‏أَبُو بَكْرٍ ‏ ‏وَعُمَرُ ‏ ‏وَعُثْمَانُ ‏ ‏فَرَجَفَ بِهِمْ الْجَبَلُ فَقَالَ ‏ ‏اسْكُنْ عَلَيْكَ نَبِيٌّ وَصِدِّيقٌ وَشَهِيدَانِ ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Shu'bah, who narrated from Qatadah, that Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated to them that the Prophet ﷺ ascended Uhud, and Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman were with him. The mountain trembled beneath them, so the Prophet ﷺ stamped it with his foot and said: 'Be still, Uhud! For upon you are a Prophet, a Siddiq, and two martyrs.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏الْأَعْمَشِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يَقُولَ ‏ ‏يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ قَالَ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ آمَنَّا بِكَ وَبِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ فَهَلْ تَخَافُ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّ الْقُلُوبَ بَيْنَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ مِنْ أَصَابِعِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُقَلِّبُهَا ‏

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated from al-A'mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ would frequently say: 'O Turner of hearts, make my heart firm upon Your religion.' We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we have believed in you and what you brought. Do you fear for us?' He said: 'Yes. The hearts are between two fingers of the Most Merciful, and He turns them as He wills.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏ثَابِتٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏جَاءَ ‏ ‏أَبُو طَلْحَةَ ‏ ‏يَوْمَ ‏ ‏حُنَيْنٍ ‏ ‏يُضْحِكُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مِنْ ‏ ‏أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ‏ ‏أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ ‏ ‏مَعَهَا خِنْجَرٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَا تَصْنَعِينَ بِهِ يَا ‏ ‏أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ ‏ ‏قَالَتْ أَرَدْتُ إِنْ ‏ ‏دَنَا ‏ ‏مِنِّي أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ طَعَنْتُهُ بِهِ ‏

Abu Usamah narrated from Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah, from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: Abu Talhah came on the day of Hunayn making the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laugh about Umm Sulaym. He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, did you not see Umm Sulaym? She has a dagger!' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Umm Sulaym, what is this dagger?' She said: 'I took it so that if any of the polytheists comes near me, I will rip open his belly.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed at that.

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated from 'Uqbah ibn 'Ubayd, from Bushayr ibn Yasar who said: We said to Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه): 'What do you find most changed from the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'I find most troubling that you do not straighten your rows in prayer.'

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated from Mishaj al-Dabbi who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) saying: When we were with the Prophet ﷺ (عليه الصلاة والسلام) on a journey and we said 'the sun has passed its zenith' — or 'it has not yet' — he would pray the Dhuhr then set out on the journey.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏الْأَعْمَشِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏جَاءَ ‏ ‏جِبْرِيلُ ‏ ‏إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ‏ ‏حَزِينٌ ‏ ‏قَدْ ‏ ‏خُضِبَ ‏ ‏بِالدِّمَاءِ ضَرَبَهُ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ ‏ ‏مَكَّةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَمَا لَكَ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ فَعَلَ بِي هَؤُلَاءِ وَفَعَلُوا قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ ‏ ‏جِبْرِيلُ ‏ ‏عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ‏ ‏أَتُحِبُّ أَنْ أُرِيَكَ ‏ ‏آيَةً ‏ ‏قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى شَجَرَةٍ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ‏ ‏الْوَادِي ‏ ‏فَقَالَ ادْعُ بِتِلْكَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَدَعَاهَا فَجَاءَتْ تَمْشِي حَتَّى قَامَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ مُرْهَا فَلْتَرْجِعْ فَأَمَرَهَا فَرَجَعَتْ إِلَى مَكَانِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏حَسْبِي ‏

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated from al-A'mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: Jibril came to the Prophet ﷺ one day while he was sitting, saddened, his face stained with blood — some of the people of Makkah had struck him. He said: 'What is the matter with you?' He said: 'These people did such-and-such to me.' Jibril said: 'Do you want me to show you a sign?' He said: 'Yes.' He looked at a tree across the valley and said: 'Call that tree.' So he called it and it came walking until it stood before him. He said: 'Tell it to go back.' So he told it and it went back to its place. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'That is sufficient for me.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ يَقُولُ ‏ ‏اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ ‏ ‏وَالْهَرَمِ ‏ ‏وَالْبُخْلِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ ‏

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated from Sulayman al-Taymi, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ used to say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity, laziness, cowardice, old age, and miserliness. And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. And I seek refuge in You from the trial of living and dying.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَيُّوبُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فَقَالَ ‏ ‏أَخَذَ ‏ ‏الرَّايَةَ ‏ ‏زَيْدٌ ‏ ‏فَأُصِيبَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا ‏ ‏جَعْفَرٌ ‏ ‏فَأُصِيبَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ ‏ ‏فَأُصِيبَ وَإِنَّ عَيْنَيْهِ لَتَذْرِفَانِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا ‏ ‏خَالِدٌ ‏ ‏مِنْ غَيْرِ ‏ ‏إِمْرَةٍ ‏ ‏فَفَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَمَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا ‏ ‏أَوْ قَالَ مَا يَسُرُّهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا ‏

Isma'il narrated from Ayyub, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a sermon and said: 'Zayd took the banner and was struck down. Then Ja'far took it and was struck down. Then 'Abdullah ibn Rawahah took it and was struck down.' His eyes were shedding tears. 'Then one of Allah's swords took it, and Allah granted him victory' — meaning Khalid ibn al-Walid.

Isma'il informed us from Ayyub, from Ibn Sirin who said: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) was asked: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform qunut?' He said: 'Yes, after the bowing.' Then he was asked again: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform qunut before the bowing?' He said: 'He did so briefly.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَنَا ‏ ‏حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَالَ ‏ ‏فَأَمَرَ ‏ ‏بِلَالًا ‏ ‏حِينَ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ أَسْفَرَ مِنْ الْغَدِ حَتَّى ‏ ‏أَسْفَرَ ‏ ‏ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ ‏ ‏الْغَدَاةِ ‏ ‏مَا بَيْنَ هَاتَيْنِ ‏ ‏أَوْ قَالَ هَذَيْنِ ‏ ‏وَقْتٌ ‏

Isma'il informed us from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the time of the Fajr prayer. He ordered Bilal to call the prayer when dawn broke, and he established the prayer. Then the next day he delayed it until it was well-lit. Then he said: 'Where is the one who asked about the time of the prayer? The time is between these two.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْمَاعِيلُ ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَنَا ‏ ‏أَيُّوبُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَوْمَ ‏ ‏النَّحْرِ ‏ ‏مَنْ كَانَ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَلْيُعِدْ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَوْمٌ ‏ ‏يُشْتَهَى فِيهِ اللَّحْمُ وَذَكَرَ ‏ ‏هَنَةً ‏ ‏مِنْ جِيرَانِهِ فَكَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏صَدَّقَهُ قَالَ وَعِنْدِي ‏ ‏جَذَعَةٌ ‏ ‏هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ شَاتَيْ لَحْمٍ قَالَ فَرَخَّصَ لَهُ فَلَا أَدْرِي بَلَغَتْ رُخْصَتُهُ مَنْ سِوَاهُ أَمْ لَا قَالَ ثُمَّ ‏ ‏انْكَفَأَ ‏ ‏رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاة وَالسَّلَامُ ‏ ‏إِلَى كَبْشَيْنِ فَذَبَحَهُمَا وَقَامَ النَّاسُ إِلَى ‏ ‏غُنَيْمَةٍ ‏ ‏فَتَوَزَّعُوهَا ‏ ‏أَوْ قَالَ فَتَجَزَّعُوهَا هَكَذَا قَالَ ‏ ‏أَيُّوبُ ‏

Isma'il informed us from Ayyub, from Muhammad, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the Day of Sacrifice: 'Whoever slaughtered before the prayer, let him repeat it.' A man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, this is a day when meat is desired, and I have hastened for the sake of my neighbors. I have a young she-goat that is better than two full-grown sheep.' the Prophet ﷺ permitted him, and I do not know whether this permission extended to others or not. Then he turned to two rams and slaughtered them, and the people went to a flock and distributed them among themselves — or he said: distributed small sheep.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مَالِكٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاة وَالسَّلَامُ ‏ ‏شَرِبَ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَعْرَابِيٌّ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ ‏ ‏أَبُو بَكْرٍ ‏ ‏فَنَاوَلَهُ وَقَالَ ‏ ‏الْأَيْمَنَ فَالْأَيْمَنَ ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Malik, who narrated to him from Ibn Shihab, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ (عليه الصلاة والسلام) drank, and on his right was a Bedouin and on his left was Abu Bakr. He gave the drink to the Bedouin and said: 'The right, then the right.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏نَوْفَلِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏دَخَلْنَا عَلَى ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏فَقُلْنَا حَدِّثْنَا بِمَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ ‏ ‏رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ حُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّارِ وَحُرِّمَتْ النَّارُ عَلَيْهِ ‏ ‏إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَحُبُّ اللَّهِ وَأَنْ يُلْقَى فِي النَّارِ فَيُحْرَقَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فِي الْكُفْرِ ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Nawfal ibn Mas'ud who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that we came to Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) and said: 'Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The signs of the Hour are: knowledge will be taken away, ignorance will prevail, fornication will be widespread, wine will be drunk, men will decrease and women will increase until there will be fifty women for one man to look after.'

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Humayd, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ passed by a garden belonging to Banu al-Najjar and heard a sound from a grave. He said: 'When did the owner of this grave die?' They said: 'He died in the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era).' He said: 'Were it not that you would stop burying your dead, I would have asked Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave.' Then he said: 'Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيِّ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏بُشَيْرُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏جَاءَ ‏ ‏أَنَسٌ ‏ ‏إِلَى ‏ ‏الْمَدِينَةِ ‏ ‏فَقُلْنَا لَهُ مَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنَّا مِنْ عَهْدِ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فَقَالَ ‏ ‏مَا أَنْكَرْتُ مِنْكُمْ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ أَنَّكُمْ لَا تُقِيمُونَ صُفُوفَكُمْ ‏

Yahya narrated from 'Uqbah ibn 'Ubayd al-Ta'i, from Bushayr ibn Yasar who said: Anas (رضي الله عنه) came to Madinah, and we said to him: 'What have you found most changed from the time of the Prophet ﷺ?' He said: 'I have found nothing more changed than this — that you do not straighten your rows.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حُمَيْدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏ثَابِتٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَرَّ بِرَجُلٍ وَهُوَ ‏ ‏يُهَادَى ‏ ‏بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ قَالُوا نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ قَالَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ هَذَا لِنَفْسِهِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ ‏

Yahya narrated from Humayd, from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man who was being supported between his two sons. They said he had vowed to walk. He said: 'Indeed Allah has no need for this man to torture himself,' and he ordered him to ride.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حُمَيْدٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سُئِلَ ‏ ‏أَنَسٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ ‏ ‏مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ ‏ ‏نَرَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلَا نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ ‏

Yahya narrated from Humayd who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that anas (رضي الله عنه) was asked about the Prophet ﷺ's ﷺ night prayer. He said: 'We never wished to see him praying except that we saw him praying, nor sleeping except that we saw him sleeping.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حُمَيْدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏بِالْبَقِيعِ ‏ ‏فَنَادَى رَجُلٌ يَا ‏ ‏أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ‏ ‏فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَمْ أَعْنِكَ قَالَ ‏ ‏تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Humayd, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was at al-Baqi' when a man called out: 'O Abu al-Qasim!' He turned to him, and the man said: 'I did not mean you.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Call yourselves by my name, but do not use my kunya (Abu al-Qasim).'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏حَمَّادٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ يَوْمَ ‏ ‏حُنَيْنٍ ‏ ‏مَنْ قَتَلَ كَافِرًا فَلَهُ ‏ ‏سَلَبُهُ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏فَقَتَلَ ‏ ‏أَبُو طَلْحَةَ ‏ ‏عِشْرِينَ ‏

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Hunayn: 'Whoever kills a disbeliever, the spoils of the slain are his.' Abu Talhah killed twenty men that day and took their spoils.
