English Translation
Sufyan narrated from 'Asim, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never grieved for any expedition as much as he grieved for the companions of Bi'r Ma'unah. They were called al-Qurra' (the Reciters). Sufyan said: A verse was revealed concerning them: 'Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord; He is pleased with us and has made us pleased.'
