‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصَمِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ ‏ ‏وَعُمَرَ ‏ ‏وَعُثْمَانَ ‏ ‏كَانُوا يُتِمُّونَ التَّكْبِيرَ إِذَا رَفَعُوا وَإِذَا وَضَعُوا ‏

English Translation

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us from Sufyan, from 'Abd al-Rahman al-Asamm, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman (رضي الله عنهم) used to complete the takbir (saying Allahu Akbar) when they raised and when they lowered — meaning at every movement of rising and prostrating.
