English Translation
Rawh ibn 'Ubadah narrated to us: Malik narrated to us from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah, he heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) saying: 'Abu Talhah (رضي الله عنه) was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah in terms of date-palm gardens, and the dearest of his properties to him was Bayruha', which was opposite the mosque. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its pleasant water. When this verse was revealed: "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love" [3:92], Abu Talhah said: O Messenger of Allah, Allah says: "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love," and the dearest of my properties to me is Bayruha'. It is a charity for the sake of Allah. I hope for its goodness and its stored reward with Allah, so dispose of it as Allah shows you. the Prophet ﷺ said: Well done! That is a profitable property. I have heard what you said, and I think you should distribute it among your relatives. Abu Talhah said: I will do so, O Messenger of Allah. So he distributed it among his relatives and cousins.'
