Hadith #351
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ أَخْبَرَنِي سُهَيْلٌ أَخُو حَزْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّه
ِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ { أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ } قَالَ قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ أَنَا أَهْلٌ أَنْ أُتَّقَى فَلَا يُجْعَلْ مَعِي إِلَهٌ فَمَنْ اتَّقَى أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَعِي إِلَهًا كَانَ أَهْلًا أَنْ أَغْفِرَ لَهُ

English Translation
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us: Suhayl, the brother of Hazm, informed me: Thabit al-Bunani narrated to us from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse: "He is worthy of taqwa and worthy of forgiveness" [74:56]. He said: Your Lord said: I am worthy of being feared, so let no one set up any god alongside Me. And I am worthy of forgiving whoever fears Me.'
