حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ الْمَعْنَى حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ لِامْرَأَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ أَتَعْرِفِينَ فُلَانَةَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِهَا وَهِيَ تَبْكِي عَلَى قَبْرٍ فَقَالَ لَهَا اتَّقِي اللَّهَ وَاصْبِرِي فَقَالَتْ لَهُ إِيَّاكَ عَنِّي فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُ
بَالِي بِمُصِيبَتِي قَالَ وَلَمْ تَكُنْ عَرَفَتْهُ فَقِيلَ لَهَا إِنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخَذَ بِهَا مِثْلُ الْمَوْتِ فَجَاءَتْ إِلَى بَابِهِ فَلَمْ تَجِدْ عَلَيْهِ بَوَّابًا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَمْ أَعْرِفْكَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الصَّبْرَ عِنْدَ أَوَّلِ صَدْمَةٍ

English Translation
'Abd al-Samad narrated to me: Shu'bah narrated to us — and Abu Dawud said: Shu'bah informed us, with the same meaning: Thabit narrated to us, he said: I heard Anas (رضي الله عنه) saying to a woman from his family: 'Do you know so-and-so woman? the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit her.' She said: 'Yes.' Anas said: 'the Prophet ﷺ used to visit her because she had been married to so-and-so, and he passed away — or he was martyred. So the Prophet ﷺ used to visit her.'
