حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلَ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ فَرَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَتَهُ زَيْنَبَ وَكَأَنّ
َهُ دَخَلَهُ لَا أَدْرِي مِنْ قَوْلِ حَمَّادٍ أَوْ فِي الْحَدِيثِ فَجَاءَ زَيْدٌ يَشْكُوهَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ { وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَتُخْفِي فِي نَفْسِكَ مَا اللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ زَوَّجْنَاكَهَا } يَعْنِي زَيْنَبَ

English Translation
Mu'ammal ibn Isma'il narrated to us: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us: Thabit narrated to us from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to the house of Zayd ibn Harithah (رضي الله عنه). the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw Zaynab bint Jahsh (رضي الله عنها), and it was as if something entered his heart. He left saying: 'Glorified is Allah Who turns the hearts!' Zaynab heard this and told Zayd, and Zayd understood the matter. He went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, permit me to divorce her.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Hold on to your wife and fear Allah.' Then Allah revealed: 'And you concealed within yourself what Allah was to disclose' [33:37].'
