حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارٌ يَعْنِي أَبَا هَاشِمٍ صَاحِبَ الْبَغُوتِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ بِلَالًا بَطَّأَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا حَبَسَكَ فَقَالَ مَرَرْتُ بِفَاطِمَةَ وَهِيَ تَطْحَنُ وَالصَّبِي
ُّ يَبْكِي فَقُلْتُ لَهَا إِنْ شِئْتِ كَفَيْتُكِ الرَّحَا وَكَفَيْتِنِي الصَّبِيَّ وَإِنْ شِئْتِ كَفَيْتُكِ الصَّبِيَّ وَكَفَيْتِنِي الرَّحَا فَقَالَتْ أَنَا أَرْفَقُ بِابْنِي مِنْكَ فَذَاكَ حَبَسَنِي قَالَ فَرَحِمْتَهَا رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ

English Translation
Abd al-Samad narrated to us, 'Ammar — meaning Abu Hashim, the companion of al-Baghut — narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that Bilal (رضي الله عنه) was late for the Fajr prayer. the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'What delayed you?' He said: 'I passed by Fatimah (رضي الله عنها) and she was grinding, and her child was crying, so I said: If you wish, I will grind for you or calm your child.' She said: 'I am more capable with my child.' So he ground for her, and that is what delayed him.
