حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْد اللَّهِ وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الرِّ
جَالِ عَنِ نُبَيْطِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِي أَرْبَعِينَ صَلَاةً لَا يَفُوتُهُ صَلَاةٌ كُتِبَتْ لَهُ بَرَاءَةٌ مِنْ النَّارِ وَنَجَاةٌ مِنْ الْعَذَابِ وَبَرِئَ مِنْ النِّفَاقِ

English Translation
Al-Hakam ibn Musa narrated to us — Abu 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abdullah said: and I heard it from al-Hakam ibn Musa — 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Rijal narrated to us, from Nubayt ibn 'Umar, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'When Allah عز وجل intends mercy for a nation, He takes its Prophet before them and makes him a forerunner and a vanguard for them. And when He intends the destruction of a nation, He punishes them while their Prophet is alive, and destroys them while he watches, to cool his eyes by their destruction when they rejected him and disobeyed his command.'
