Hadith #519
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا غَزَا قَوْمًا لَمْ يَغْزُ بِنَا لَيْلًا حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ فَإِنْ سَمِعَ أَذَانًا كَفَّ عَنْهُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ أَذَانًا أَغَارَ عَلَيْهِمْ
English Translation
Sulayman narrated to us, Isma'il narrated to us, Humayd narrated to me, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ, when he would march against a people, would not attack them at night until morning came. If he heard the adhan, he would refrain from them. If he did not hear the adhan, he would attack after dawn.
