English Translation

Yahya narrated from Hisham, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman would begin the recitation with 'al-Hamdu lillahi Rabb al-'Alamin' — they would not mention 'Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim' at the beginning or end of the recitation.
