English Translation

Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas (رضي الله عنه), that a man from the desert folk whose name was Zahir used to bring gifts from the countryside to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ would prepare provisions for him when he intended to leave. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Zahir is our countryside man, and we are his city folk.' the Prophet ﷺ loved him, and he was an unattractive man. the Prophet ﷺ came to him while he was selling his goods and embraced him from behind. The man said: 'Let me go! Who is this?' Then he turned and recognized the Prophet ﷺ, and he kept pressing his back against the Prophet ﷺ's chest. the Prophet ﷺ began saying: 'Who will buy this slave?' The man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you will find me an unsellable commodity.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'But with Allah, you are not unsellable' — or he said: 'But with Allah, you are precious.'
